The first is the Lip sync project, with the new and improved final video. Now you can view the original video here: http://wild-doctors-designs.blogspot.com/2011/04/lip-sync-final-video.html/
So what changes did i make to the actual animation?
Well there a few subtle tweaks to the body movement so he looks less "drunk" but the biggest obvious change is when his arm goes down to his side. In the original this happens super quick and really, followers a random line of movement. Now however the way the arms moves is lot more believable and followers a line. As well as moving a little slower. It looks more believable./
I have to admit most of the tweaks i have made on this new version have been more to do with technical improvements. For a start in the original there was more than a few key frames that were not needed. This was one of the main reasons for the drunkenness look./
Another thing that I did which is a captain obvious thing. Is i animated the camera between the two shots. The original i had to cameras and i rendered out the movie 4 times when you count the Ambient Occlusion and diffuse layer for each camera. This was so i can decide where the cuts are best suited later on in post editing. But in the new one i just had one camera which halfed my rendering which means less render time and half the amount of images./
That was another thing that was fixed. The images, you will notice that the new and improved has a much higher quality finish to it than the original. This was because the original had two compressions on it. One from when it was rendered out of combustion then a second when it was finally rendered out with sound from Adobe Premiere. Which was the reason for a lack of quality. Also when i rendered out of Maya to save time when i was rendering the film 4 times my file extensions were just Jpegs which are a lossy data file./

Now however every image is a PNG files so non lossy data but also once edited in combustion instead of adding the compression i then rendered out as a series of PNG files again. like what you would do in Maya. So i didn't loose any quality and it would mean just compressing the video once. The draw back here is you do get loads of png files so you do have to get organised with your folders and naming. But also PNG are a bit bigger in file size. But that wasn't too much a big problem./
The one part of the feedback i couldn't really fix was his hands. His hands are impossible to look elegant. Naturally because of the time i gave my self to model the Standard. His hands by default looked like somebody had stomped on them. Plus with the way i rigged them and missing out the finger tip joints in the fingers to help make them bend the way they should. It all equaled to the ugliness of the hands. There is however still some hand movement in the video if you look towards the end./
Overall I'm very happy with the end results and the improvements made to the new video.
