Return and The Next Project!!!

First things first Happy New Year and this is the first post of 2012.

Now For the last 15 weeks i have been working on a professional brief for CITV. Which
is by far one of the most exciting and fun things i have done ever and it always make me smile like a cheshire cat when i say i'm just working on something for CITV.

Having watched the channel since i was we young en it was a treat to do. So for the 15 weeks i had been working on a 60 second animation (3 lots of 20) short animation sketches that i thought of and seen through using the traditional work
ing pipeline.

But because it has been a professional brief i have not been sure if i could post work up & I'd rather play it safe than sorry. So that's why it's been like a ghost town on this blog.

Anyway i have reached the stage that i'm now at the point of creating my major project. Yes it is that time already. But i'm encourages to blog about the project.

So what am i going to do for the last great Uni projec
t?

Well before I knew what the CITV brief was, way back 14 weeks ago. I was going to do another brief which would of been a group dance animation thing with young dancing animals. I had done a fair bit of early developmen
t in the week that lead up to the briefing from CITV. Anyway in the end i stopped that and went to CITV as it was more my thing.

But now i'm gonna pick the character back up and have a bit more freedom with what i can do with her to what the professional dance project people wanted. So i can go down more of a comedy route which i like.

Anyway
the character was A Dancing Giraffe called Savanna Montanna. and leg warmers are very important to the character. I found that leg warmers and giraffe are meant to be.

I would like to have 80% of the piece to be good dance animation mainly focusing on body animation as oppose to lip sync. As my CITV was a lip sync project at it's main core, because of the scripts and sketches i came up with. Then the other 20% is filler. As at the moment I'm thinking some sort of Pineapple Dance Studio type show/ sketch documentary.

When i switched briefs i wrote my character out with an injury. So this could be following her training for her come back, and because I'm no longer bound to constraints i can make her older than a junior which is what the client for that brief wanted. I'd always imagined Savanna as a young pro dancer.

I'm just not sure to set it in the dance studio or on stage or maybe both. But the dance is my main concern at the moment.
I do want it to be bright and colourful and 80's which is why stage would be good. It's still early days anyway.

But one thing for sure is expect more posts over the next 12 weeks.
