The SuperHero Project- Part 2-chapter two

Ok so now that The SuperHero Project- Part 2-chapter one (Part one) summed up what this project was about roughly.

Now lets just close in on me for a little bit and my characters and how i came up with the design which i'll show ya later. So I as you now know i got carbon - Male - Good - mesomorphic. When i first got this i wanted my chartcer to have a similar vibe in chartcer as John Steed from the Avengers, upper class, spoke well, good posture along those lines. Luckily these chartcreistics fitted in with back story and the universe me and the rest of the group created. More on this later.

The next thing to think about was the word Carbon. Now i had several ideas from this. An early idea was some sort of plant man and the ability to control plants due plants respiration. Another idea was to go down the carbon fiber way. An idea that i came back too but at this stage it was more fast and furious, street racing kind of look.

The route i went down in the end was Diamonds. Diamonds are created from carbon and diamonds are normally associated with upper class and wealth so it seemed like a good route to take.

Now around the time of this project i was walking around the countryside as i do but this time i seemed to of picked up some weird rash on my arm from a plant or something the doc said. Anyway this gave me an idea on how to use the diamonds and link it with the another members of the group chartcers. My chartcers and one of the other chartcers are brothers. Now this other member of the group had spulnker as his word. So he went down a route which lead to this rock person guy (similar to the thing) but able to morph in and out of his rock form. My chartcer has started getting diamond rashes around the neck and forearms. Kind of like a very early stage to what the other chartcer had. But a different rock compound. But unlike this other chartcer my chartcer can not control this part of his mutation. We are going for natural mutation like X men rather that radio active radios etc. Also the diamonds are part of the DNA structure of my chartcer which make him a little more durable then most people.

Now i started thinking he can't really save people with this power but it was a cool way of linking two of the groups chartcers really well. So gave my chartcer the power of speed. That's how i can link to carbon fiber as well. Still no use for plant though, sorry plant fans. With my hero powers set i now needed a name, Jiffy man is not the name i went for. I had mind map and the name i came up with was THE DIAMOND STANDARD

His back story and personality also started to mature now. he was the guy with a plan who liked to do things a certain way and be super organised but with out being super organised man. This was also to contrast his brother who were now "The Cartwright Brothers" -James and Mathew. My chartcer was the oldest out of the two.

James Cartwright aka the soon to be Diamond Standard, had spent most of his live in the Army where he had an elite squadron under him. Including an Abigail Williams head of tech for the squadron.(Another member of the groups chartcers who got DJ-Female-sneaky) When James left he took Abigail with him to help run Cartwright industry which was a front for there new superhero ways. There relation is teacher- student. Eventually some time soon after taking back the family business Mathew Cartwright would re-join his older brother to complete our group heroes.

Colours for the Diamond standard i had always thought along blue type of colours with diamonds being the main focus. I tried oranges and greens but they didn't feel like they would suit the chartcer or would clash with the locations and other charatcers colours. Eventually i would start adding bits of red in contrast to the blue to highlight certain areas, and have a feel of Union Jackness about the hero.

In terms of the suit speed was of the essence. I liked the idea of a helmet not just to avoid hair styles but also it could help with aerodynamics.....ok mainly due to hair. I went for the speed skater design, i just liked how you get the massive point at the back and it just seem to say speed to me rather than health & safety.

The 5 diamond logo he has was my way of using the go fast stripes that you see on cars. But they had been used so many times i wanted to

have something new and more personal to the Diamond Standard. I still added some stripes that go from the shoulders to about the knee and then around. But these look more like braces which give the outfit a more formal military look which work nice with the chartcers personality and back story.

Also i the face is mostly covered up with a kind of balaclava with just his mouth and jaw uncovered. Again this fitted in with military. Also i needed the mouth on display due to it being visible for their lip syn project. For the eyes i went for the kind of spider man film mask type of eyes if ya wondering.

So there is my logic for the design and roughly his story.

The next part of the story The Superhero Project - Part 2 chapter brings us to present day of the modelling of this chartcer ready for the lip sync project. As for locations and sets that will coming in a few weeks when i talk/write about the story our heroes will be taking place in.

Regular updates on modeling my characters will happening as i model, just like old times.
