Introducing The Diamond Standard

Here is the finished model

I decided not to do the bump map texture. Time is running out and to be honest part of me thinks he doesn't need it and there is small glitch on the brace at the sides. But hey it's time to move on. Hopefully when i start animating it won't look to bad any way. And who hold there arms out like that anyway......a scarecrow but he isn't a scarecrow so i might be all right.

For me personally i am really pleased with the model and the texturing and to get something that looks like the drawing and has a decent edge flow, (loops) I'm really pleased.

So what is next. Well i have started to plan the rig he will have and the controls that i need to put in place. Keeping it simple. The most complicated part will be the hand. An idea i have had if that i need 3 hand shapes which will cover most hand gestures these are:

Open Hand

Close Hand (grip/fist)

Point (index finger)

How i see it i will still need to add bones/joints for every finger. But i will have two controls. One that opens and close 4 fingers and a thumb, and another that open and closes the index finger.

In theory and after a couple of coffees this seemed like a good idea.

So by Sunday i should have a rig on the Standard and weights painted. It will then be a mad rush to do a few blend shapes and add my controlls.
