Head Modelling.....Done

Head modelling, DONE. and i am pretty pleased with how it has turned out. I knew it would take me a while to complete, modelling always does. But when you look back at the superhero project i like to think i'm improving. I definitely feel like of more of an understanding of edge flows and knowledge of tools.

So yes the head is now done anyway. Just the body to do now, which will be done by this time next week. It should ideally be done before as it should be a little more straight forward than the head.

When modelling i'm always unsure where to start, what to do and how to do it. Especially knowing how important a decent edge flow is. So to start me of i went to the Swinburne tutorial i used for Superhero project. Now while the tutorial is for a human head and a fairly realistic head. I find that the first few parts of the tutorial universal in that it does help to get the foundations down of the modelling and helps/ guides you threw how your flow works out. Once that bases is done i found i could just fly solo and be confident with what i was doing.

The hair. I feel i should took to you about the hair, because it does feel like it's a bit of an elephant in the room type of situation. The hair i'm pretty pleased with. While the top of the head hair may not be as uniformed (polygons) as it should be that area isn't going to deform or anything anyway so it shouldn't be too much of a bother anyway. But as the hair comes out behind the neck the polygons become more uniformed as there will be a bit of animation on that area.

But the hair was created using spheres at the top of the head and then a cube for the hair that comes down the neck. These where then Boolean together to make one mesh. Which did make it a little messy but after a little bit of tidying up it's turned out alright. The only issue i may see is when i get to painting the weight on. But will worry about it when i get there.
